The iconic Florida beach bar in Grayton Beach, The Red Bar, had to close its doors due a massive fire on Feb 13, 2019. No injuries were reported and an investigation is underway to determine what caused this terrible incident to take place.
We will always remember The Red Bar for having an unbelievable atmosphere. From the moment you walked through its doors, you felt like you were walking into an old friend’s living room.
The glow of red Christmas lights permeated throughout each of the rooms, making for a cozy and comfortable feel. Music was always heard in the room adjacent to the main bar and the staff were some of the most friendly people around. They would always make you feel like family. And their Bloody Mary’s were some of the best we’ve ever had.
The Red Bar is such a unique Florida beach bar and is a landmark of Grayton Beach. The community has rallied together and poured out their love for this special place. Check out their facebook page for updates and ways you can help out.
On The Red Bar website, owner Oli Petit says, “I want to tell our patrons and my staff that we will be back, and we will rebuild to the exact previous specifications - maybe with a better bathroom. Life goes on.”
Our hearts go out to the wonderful staff of The Red Bar and we are thinking of them and the community as the rebuild process starts.
