Overview
Original Tiki Bar in Ft. Pierce is on the beautiful Indian River at the Ft. Pierce City Marina. You might think that they mean this is the original Florida tiki bar, but it is the original tiki bar in Ft. Pierce built in 1990. It doesn't matter the age or the history, this is one large tiki bar with a beautiful location. You can see Hutchinson Island and the local boaters coming and going. The view is gorgeous, and you will feel like you are in a tropical paradise at this Florida beach bar.
The food at the Original Tiki Bar is very good. Try the Tiki God Margarita with a Chicken Avocado Salad. Anything you choose is delicious. Be creative and be adventuresome. Happy hour is daily from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Live bands play at this Florida beach bar on Friday nights and Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Check their web site for band names and exact times.
2004 was a bad year in Florida for hurricanes. Between Hurricane Frances and Hurricane Jeanne, the Original Tiki Bar suffered some damage. For four months, crews worked round the clock, and the tiki bar opened up again December 31, 2004. This effort is nothing short of a miracle.
We have heard this story before about other Florida beach bars that were brought down by Mother Nature. But the human spirit doesn't like to be brought down by Mother Nature, and they don't like to have anything mess with their watering holes. Florida beach bars bring out the best in people, for sure.
