Florida Beach Bar is the home of The Top Florida Beach Bar contest.  It began in 2011 and each spring, thousands of people vote for their favorite. It's a fun contest that allows guests to show their Florida beach bar pride and recognize those beach bars that go above and beyond to deliver an exceptional Florida beach bar experience.

Florida beach bars listed on the website have been visited by a member of Florida Beach Bar to ensure they represent a place that our visitors would consider fun, inviting, or unique.

We know there are many Florida beach bars out there so if you know of one that should be added to our list, contact us so we can pay it a visit!  Florida beach bars are added to or removed from this website at our discretion.

Although we provide information for our visitors to consider when choosing to visit a Florida beach bar, individual experiences can vary.  We work hard to keep our information up to date but we encourage you to contact the specific Florida beach bar before traveling.

So recline your beach chair, dig your toes in the sand, and take a few minutes to explore this website- you never know where it will lead you!

Our Journey

Having recently moved to Orlando from the Midwest, we wanted to visit different Florida areas outside of our new city. We stumbled across FloridaBeachBar.com in early 2011 and decided to use it as our roadmap.

We reached out to the website owners, John and Chris, and the next thing we knew we had our own page tracking our progress on the site. We were amazed at how much they supported our efforts and we quickly became friends. As we told our friends about our plan to visit as many of these bars as we can, they wanted to do the same thing and the Beach Bar Challenge was born.

People sometimes ask what our favorite bar has been and we like to steal the response that John and Chris always give…”the one we’re at.” It’s so true. Jimmy B’s has unbelievable hospitality and a prime location, Siesta Key Oyster Bar, and the Daiquiri Deck in Siesta Key for the numerous friends that joined us there, Flora-Bama for hosting a great Kenny Chesney concert, Lorelai Cabana Bar for our 100th beach bar milestone, and the Square Grouper for making us feel like it’s always five o’clock somewhere.

What’s next? Well, we are going to continue visiting beach bars but this time, maybe at a slower pace. Whether it’s a blog or otherwise, we’d like to continue to share experiences, advice, and stories. Keep visiting our blog at FloridaBeachBar.com and hope you make the time to visit a few of these great places. Cheers!

Giving Back

We support United in Love Adoptions who are doing incredible work bringing families together through adoption services. Their comprehensive support through the entire adoption process has helped families in Florida.

Save The Manatee website

We also support the Save the Manatee Club because, just like Florida beach bars, manatees are part of what make the Florida landscape so unique.

These large marine mammals are an essential part of Florida nature and with humans being the number one reason they are endangered, we wanted to support a foundation dedicated to protecting the species.

We selected Margarito as our manatee to adopt because his name reminded us of one of our favorite drinks!

Please take the time to visit their website and consider adopting, volunteering, or donating.
