 Year after year The Golden Lion in Flagler Beach wins awards and is its most awarded restaurant. They have even won an award for being the Best Family Owned Restaurant of the Year in Florida. And, of course, The Golden Lion is a 2012 Top 10 Florida Beach Bar and Best Waterside Beach Bar in Florida for 2011. Tony & Carolyn have made the Golden Lion a place to "escape the real world one hour at a time" and who doesn't love that feeling.
The food is very good which is always a great thing in a Florida beach bar. They have won awards for their fried fish too.
We love this beach bar. Clever signs and pictures decorate the interior, but it is the upper deck we were thrilled with. Choose a table with an umbrella, order your food and drink, and sit back and take in the view at this great Florida beach bar. The Golden Lion may be across the street from the Atlantic Ocean and Flagler Beach, but the views are terrific and better than many Florida beach bars.
You will see beach goers, and you know how entertaining that can be. You may be lucky enough to see dolphins, pelicans, and whales doing their thing in the surf. You can also catch surfers catching a wave in the Atlantic Ocean. You can spend hours on the upper deck under an umbrella with a drink with an umbrella in it and be in Heaven indeed. This is true Paradise.
The staff is super friendly and that adds to the perfect party atmosphere. Enjoy top local and regional talent Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and Sundays starting at 1 PM. Sunday is Reggae Day with Zebbhi Niyah Band. This band is not to be missed. They are fantastic.

Drinks served at the Golden Lion Cafe are the work of Master "Tiki Tender" Mark Woods. He has earned the honor of being named Florida's Favorite Bartender by Backstage Pass Magazine several times running. Mark claims to feel like he has been on vacation for 15 years. His welcoming personality and charm help make the Golden Lion Cafe one of Florida's best beach bars. Mark is high energy and makes great drinks.
The owners of this Florida beach bar are Carolyn and Tony Marlow. If you get a chance to meet and talk with them you will feel like you have been friends with them for years and envy their life.
Carolyn and Tony are always doing some kind of remodeling to the Golden Lion and it gets better every time we go there. This Florida beach bar has a bandstand, tiki bar with trees growing through the roof and a beach area where you can drink with your toes in the sand.
The Golden Lion is one of our favorite Florida beach bars. It is at The Golden Lion that we enjoy kicking back and keeping an eye on the Atlantic Ocean with our favorite beverage, of course.
