As it says on the web site, "Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville - a state of mind is now a state of being". When it comes right down to it, Margaritaville is what everyone thinks of when you mention beaches and Florida beach bars. So everyone enters this place with a certain expectation. And that expectation is always met.
Margaritaville in Key West is home of the original retail store established in 1985. Soon after the cafe was added, and the rest is history. The Key West Margaritaville is often times a just a great restaurant with great drinks. But when the bands show up, this cafe turns into a another great Florida beach bar with all the right atmosphere.....except a beach.
When you enter Margaritaville you may notice the hurricane painted on the ceiling. Or it maybe the stage that looks like it's just waiting for Jimmy to show up. You definitely know that you are someplace special. The food is great, and the burgers are paradise. I like mine with lettuce and tomato, Heinz 57 and french fried potatoes.
Margartiaville is always crowded, day or night. It is a busy place and the activity is amazing. One night we were there eating at the bar. We watched two bartenders work so hard and so fast it was surreal. These guys loved what they did and did everything they could to take care of us. Impressive. It was a great show, and encouraged us to keep ordering so we could keep watching.
There is live music at this Florida beach bar during the evenings. You can check their web site calendar for who is appearing and the times. It does vary. The quality of the bands is top notch, and Margaritaville Key West brings in some great Trop Rock bands such as Boat Drunks and Jimmy Parrish.
