The Island Time Bar and Grill is located on the ground level of the Bridge Street Bistro. The Island Time Bar and Grill has colorful red umbrellas and tables along the sidewalk. Sitting at a sidewalk table gives great views of the passing crowds and cars. You also get a glimpse of the Gulf of Mexico.
Choose to sit undercover and you will be located in a former parking garage. There are lots of fans and cool breezes. The bar is large and provides a view of the Gulf. There is quite a bit of charm in this inside area and many people on this particularly hot day choose to sit under cover.
Upstairs is the Bridge Street Bistro and that is where the food is prepared and where you find the restrooms. The food is very good and the service is quick and friendly. There is an item on the menu called "Nick's Garbage Plate" that has baked beans, french fries and potato salad. All of this is topped with burgers. Sounds like carb overload. However, the lobster salad roll was loaded with lobster and not overdosed with mayo.
So what makes a great beach bar? Lots of live music. Island Time has live music every day from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM and twice on Saturdays and Sundays with music starting at 1:00 PM.
